Male, 37. Probably far too much of this LJ is currently about cycling, that's because I'm trying to get fit and to a healthy weight. After July I'll go back to whingeing about trivia. Hurrah!
When fit, I'm going to give much more attention to medieval swordfighting and stand up comedy. Ideally, I'll find a way to combine the two that doesn't get me arrested.
I've got a website for the swordfighting thing but it's not set up yet. Don't currently do any shows, mostly it's just an excuse to run round my garden with a friend, making light-sabre noises like I'm six. Oh and as an excuse for an increasingly large collection of swords and armour. My parents worry everytime they hear about sword or axe wielding nutters going crazy in London. Especially after the Machete Incident at school...
I'm interested in doing more writing but cycling currently cuts into much of my available time, I'm looking forward to getting my life back later this year.
Please feel free to harass me about writing output by comment on this page or on my email address. In fact I promise to attempt to write a one page short story about any one sentence subject of your choice within one week of receipt of suggestion (this has proven to be a lie but I intend to get back to it).
I've had far too many jobs, due mainly to lack of interest and commitment on my part, although I'm trying to change that because I'm really bored of being poor. I currently have something that could be considered to be the beginnings of a career.
Jobs have included (in no particular order): Customer Service phone monkey, Train guard, TV Extra, Science Museum Warder, Maureen Lipman's paperboy (I was 30, she used to get the Daily Telegraph, had a lovely garden and didn't tip), muzak technician (I actually got one job by saying at interview "If you give me this job, there will be one less person producing muzak in the world, surely that's a good thing?") and kitchen porter. Currently I work as a transport planner. No it's not my fault, I'm *planning* things. So it will be my fault in about 15 years.
I also ran a comedy club for a bit but that's a long and, ironically, not very funny story.
